9 Best Cosmo Recipe Ever

cocktail shaker and martini glass

It is no small secret that I am not a fan of "girly" drinks. My friends tease me that I drink like a guy because I prefer red wine, dark beer and strong whiskey. As far as I'm concerned, coconut and strawberries belong on cake, not in beverages. That being said, get out your martini glasses because I am about to share with you a recipe for the best darn cosmo you will ever taste!

This recipe comes from my friend Sharon, the author of the Diva Blog, a real live opera singer, and the epitome of all things stylish and feminine. I first had these cosmos at her bachelorette party a couple of years ago and all my prejudices towards this drink were instantly melted away. I think the secret to its deliciousness is that it does not include any Cointreau whatsoever and most cosmo recipes do.

The World's Best Cosmo

In a cocktail shaker, combine with ice:
2 oz vodka
1 oz Rose's lime juice
1 oz triple sec
anywhere from a splash to 2 oz cranberry juice, depending on your preference

Mix well and pour into a glass. Add a slice of lime for garnish and enjoy!

Oh, Liene. You are too sweet.

If you want to spend a little extra money, substituting Grand Marnier for the triple sec is quite indulgent.

This is the same recipe that I've used for a long time. Sometimes I add just a splash of orange juice. They are SOOOOO good!!! Nothing like a pitcher of cosmos at ANY party!!

I'll give it a try ... I've used Grand Mariner in the past and it gets expensive. I'm bartending as a favor for a new friend whose hosting a private party at her shop the Shoe Box in Allentown, PA. I'll give it a try with triple sec this Friday... thanks!

Here's another FUN idea if you're having a Cosmo party (from a true "Cosmo girl")...have each of your guests bring a new martini glass to the party to exchange with another guest. They can wrap them or not, and you can do an exchange. Each party-goer can then drink from their new glass at the party, and go home with a pretty new cosmo martini glass to add to their collection...having an eclectic martini glass collection makes for a VERY fun party!

To add a little extra zip to the drink, try adding your used limes to the shaker after you have squeezed them!
