Many brides and bridesmaids hold their bouquets in a manner that blocks the view of their dress and causes their arms to tire in a short amount of time. There's no need to hold your bouquet up high, as Carrie is for her wedding in the upcoming Sex and the City movie:
The proper way to hold a bouquet is to bend your arms at a 90 degree angle and then let the weight of the bouquet bring them down a bit further. An easier way to remember this is to have your hands right about belly button level, as shown in these photos below. This will keep your arms from turning into jello mid-ceremony and will allow your photos to show off the dress you searched for so long to find.

This is one of my favorite bouquet tips!
So true!! I always tell my brides to use their hips as a guide. And that way it'll hide any possible "imperfections"...
It was so funny this weekend one of the grooms shouted out after I said that "Hey too bad I don't get one of those!"
Tag!
I can imagine a few brides totally forgetting how to hold their bouquet low when walking down the aisle with all those people staring at her! Luckily enough I am lazy and didn't want to carry the bouquet high up anyways- so it seemed to work out perfect :)
Nice aisle photo (Stuart rocks!!!)
So true! It is great advice for brides to be. It is funny how Hollywood can go wrong. You will think that with all the money they spent, they will show the right way.
ha, Julie, I would probably hold mine lower out of laziness and not protocol as well. :)
Kelly, I agree - Stuart does rock. That is one of my favorite photos from that wedding, but there are way too many good ones to choose from.
Liene, your blog rocks!
such good advise. i do wonder if Carrie is getting ready to toss her petals, however. did you catch the trailer? those flowers go flying!
