Welcome to the wedding blog by Blue Orchid Designs! My name is Liene (and in case you're wondering, it's pronounced Lynn) and I am the CEO of Blue Orchid Designs, a wedding planning firm with consultants in Arizona, New York, and Washington DC. I am also the founder of Splendid Communications, an online media consultancy serving the wedding and event industries. Some of my favorite things include candlelit dinners and long walks on the beach. Oops, sorry! Wrong intro.

In all seriousness, we're glad you've stopped by our blog! We love weddings. We love people. And we really love pretty things. So we dish about all of the above here at the Blue Orchid Designs blog. Our blogging style is direct, pragmatic and fun. If the dress isn't your most flattering style, we'll tell you. We'll also be the ones wearing waterproof mascara on your wedding day because chances are very high that we will mist up when you walk down that aisle. So, pour yourself your favorite beverage and come join us! We are just a little bit addicting, if we do say so ourselves.

Ami Elizabeth and Rebekah Anne, the creative minds behind Elizabeth Anne Designs, launched The Library yesterday, a complimentary resource for brides that includes a collection of wedding professionals from around the globe, including yours truly.

I am pretty choosy about what I attach my name to, and I have turned down invitations to be listed in other directories for various reasons.  The Library is free for vendors, but I was more than happy to support the work Ami and Rebekah are doing with a sponsored listing because I believe these two women are top notch.  These ladies have raised the bar by creating the best and most helpful directory of wedding professionals that is currently online, and they are continually adding to it.

Okay, enough of my gush fest, here's what Ami and Rebekah have to say about their labor of love:

"We are incredibly excited to announce our new project, The Elizabeth Anne Designs Library. After months of development and research, we are launching a new resource for brides. The Library is filled with hundreds of useful links, from photographers to shops to stationers. Our goal is a simple, comprehensive list of vendors. The Library will help every bride, no matter her location, find the vendors and inspiration she needs for a beautiful event."

Right now the collection is categorized alphabetically by area of expertise, but a quick {ctrl+f} search can highlight the professionals in your specific location. While you're over there, be sure to bookmark their blog so you can spend some time there soaking up all the information they have archived. Rebekah and Ami have truly built a comprehensive wedding resource for today's brides, full of inspiration and practical, real-wedding tested advice. I wrote a series of guest articles for them earlier this year that are exclusive to their site, so be sure to check those out as well.

Also, just wanted to let you know too that today we introduced the ability for brides/grooms to publish vendor reviews. It would be great if you wanted to steer your clients towards the new site so that they can give you your much-deserved glowing review!
